Turn a popular but cluttered hair salon in a Victorian townhouse into an elegant, calm but highly functional space. The brief was to give each visitor a first class airline-style, experience.
We worked with the architect to create an entirely new environment for Leo’s clients on land purchased behind the salon. Nine Lives designed bespoke wooden pods with separate zones for stylists’ equipment and clients’ belongings – along with finer details, such as ensuring the sockets were separated. The inclusion of a ‘service’ button allowed staff to respond quickly to clients’ requests for refreshments. A courtyard garden kept the space feeling natural and fresh, while we reinstated the original fireplace in the reception area to capture the spirit of the Victorian townhouse. Other-worldly wallpaper across the salon ensured it would become a destination rather than a pit-stop.
Working alongside the architect to provide plans and elevations, we also specified new finishes for floors and walls and commissioned a specialist joinery company to provide the bespoke pods. We also worked with a lighting company to provide custom-made lighting.
